Coominya school children have a deeper appreciation of ANZAC Day after activities this week.
On Wednesday afternoon, children gathered together for a simple ceremony at the school. The parade was addressed by Mr Maurice Thompson from the Lowood sub-branch of the RSL. Mr Thompson told students that war is full of stupidity.
On Thursday (ANZAC Day) Ms Armstrong and Mr Gillespie organised over 20 students in school uniform who represented the school at the community commemoration. Mr Gillespie reported that the Coominya represented the school very well, with a high standard of conduct.
Thank-you to all the parents who brought their children to the commemoration.
